Gapminder Project

Gapminder

We live in a world where we are bombarded with information and statistics. But as we have discussed in class, data without a proper interpretation doesn’t take us too far. Gapminder (www.gapminder.org) is a recent and great way to present statistics in a visual and chronological manner. It presents important data from around the world in clear dynamic graphs so we can see and interpret data visually.

Gap Minder purpose is to link data from all over the world in order to effectively close the gap between the data and using the data.  Through its platform “Trendanalyser”, gapminder gathers data from a wide variety of different sources such as the World Bank, United Nations, International Labor Organization and many other global institutions.

Check it out at www.gapminder.org. It is lots of fun to play with and its free.
